The "I dont have time for a real post" Giveaway!

Quarter close + me being an accountant = no time for a real blog entry. But since I love you and I want you to keep reading even when I am getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter at work- here is a giveaway!

Hooray for Lock Laces! I don't know about you, but Yankz make my feet go numb. Lock Laces are alot more adjustable and not nearly as confusing to use. And did I mention that they come in hot pink? Check out my sexy shoelaces that match my pink race belt!

I have 2 pairs to give away- a white pair and a blue pair. Leave a comment telling me about your most embarrassing moment during a race or workout and I will pick 2 winners on Friday! I would say my most embarrassing moment would be wrecking my bike into the mud at Rumpass...or maybe puking at the finish line at the Broad Street Run...or maybe falling over on my clipless pedals in front of the whole Contes guys cycling team...

  1. Hey Lauren - We met at Bobbie's bachelorette and I saw you on Chloe's blog (I swim w Chloe and Jenny). Small world! You all put me to shame. I need to blog more than 1x/month...

  2. Can I tell you about my husband's - he fell off the treadmill at the gym! He pressed pause but it started again and boom. The whole gym must have heard and the old ladie next to him kept asking if he was ok...oh no

  3. YAY! This is perfect timing... I had Yankz on my old shoes and now that I have upgraded (and have a triathlon in 2 weeks -- yikes), I need a new pair. I'd love to try Lock Laces!

Let's see, most embarrassing moment during a race...I got lost during a one-loop forest run (I did two, which was the Olympic distance, not the sprint) and ended up coming in 30 minutes after goal. My friends had to sit, wait and wonder what the heck happened to me.

  4. Haha, yeah I think my most embarrassing workout would be when I fell on my bike...at a complete stop...at an intersection...in front of a bunch of cars/people/other bikers. And then I just laid there for a minute laughing at myself and everyone just looked at me funny. Hehe:).

  5. you're a mess. you should win them. erm. at my first tri i jumped off my bike and my slippery bike shoes made me slip and slide over the transition line and my bike shorts got yanked down and i got road rash all over my naked butt. I WIN.

  6. In my first Half Ironman they had wetsuit strippers (AWESOME!!!). One thing to keep in mind, tie your bottoms on TIGHT! That's all I'll say.

  7. There are two to choose from:

    1) Unknowingly completing a triathlon w/ goggles on my head the entire race. I lost my swimcap and had to retie my hair in the water and my goggles got tied into my hair. I didn't notice until my boyfriend pulled them off my head and out of my hair at the finish line.

    2) Being naked for most of the swim in my first triathlon. I hadn't swam in just bottoms and a sports bra before and it did not provide the desired coverage during the pool swim.

  8. I once finished a backstroke race in someone else's lane... true story. My stroke was so wild, and I thrashed so hard, that I somehow worked my way under the lane line and touched the wall only to realize I had finished in another lane.

  9. Most embarassing race moment: Did a nighttime race and had chickpea salad for lunch... SO. MUCH. FIBER. Needless to say, I was running for the bathroom 3k into a 10k, while a little boy who was volunteering shouted at me "Where are you going? The race is this way!!"

  10. I think puking 50 feet from the MCM finish line is at the top of my list. At least a Marine told me that I was hard core!

  11. Hmmm my embarassing race moment was my first race. I bought a cheap Walmart bike to ensure I like triathlons. The first turn out of transition, my bike seat fell (not good when I was probably already to big for the bike) and then my handlebars turned and I rode the 18 miles on a low seat and drive with twisted handlebars. Definitely surprised that I still like these things after that race.

  12. First time using clipless pedals in a group ride of about 40 people and falling over in the middle of the street at the first stoplight. Having the whole group look at me and then hear someone say "Welcome to the club NEWBIE!!!!"
